Hospitality architects design the places people choose to spend their time and money: restaurants, bars, cafes, entertainment venues, event spaces, and the lobbies and amenity areas that make a building feel welcoming. Archiphy Architecture and Interiors is a Dallas commercial architecture firm that has worked on hospitality projects across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex since 2006, so we know how a guest experience is built, from the first impression at the door to the back-of-house logistics that keep it running.

What Hospitality Architects Do Differently

A hospitality space has to work for two audiences at once. Guests should feel the mood the brand promises, while staff also need a layout that lets them move quickly and serve well. Hospitality architecture balances both, and then it also has to satisfy the landlord, the city, and the health department before anyone walks in. That balance shows up in four places: operational flow (deliveries, kitchens, bars, service paths), aesthetic storytelling (materials, lighting, sightlines, signage), guest psychology (arrival, comfort, dwell time), and code compliance (occupancy, egress, accessibility, fire and health requirements). We treat all four as design decisions, not afterthoughts, because a beautiful room that fails inspection or slows the line is not finished.

Hospitality Architecture Services in Dallas–Fort Worth

Restaurants and bars. Full-service dining rooms, bar-forward concepts, fast-casual and QSR prototypes, coffee shops, and dessert brands, with the kitchen, bar, and seating planned together from the start. Our restaurant architect page covers this work in detail. Entertainment and event venues. Family-entertainment centers, destination restaurants with event space, patios, and rooftops, because occupancy, acoustics, and crowd flow decide whether the venue works on a Saturday night. Guest-facing commercial interiors. Lobbies, fitness and wellness studios, salons, and the guest-facing parts of office and retail buildings, in other words the spaces that are designed like hospitality because guests judge them like hospitality. Multifamily amenity and common-area design. Leasing offices, clubhouses, lobbies, fitness rooms, and pool and courtyard areas for multifamily communities, because residents judge these spaces the way guests judge a restaurant. Our multifamily work in Dallas includes the Carroll and Cabell projects. Multi-location rollouts. For brands opening several DFW locations, we adapt the prototype to each site and each city’s code amendments while keeping the brand consistent from one venue to the next. As-built documentation with 3D laser scanning. Archiphy scans existing spaces with a Leica BLK360 laser scanner and delivers accurate as-built drawings, so a second-generation restaurant or a multifamily clubhouse renovation starts from reality instead of an outdated landlord plan.

Why Owners Choose Archiphy as Their Hospitality Architects

Vision-led by a licensed architect, every time. You work directly with the founding principal, a licensed Texas architect, not a rotating project team. We speak operations. Kitchen workflow, bar throughput, table turnover, pickup zones, and storage are decided in the plan, so they are not discovered after opening. Our article on designing for high customer flow shows how we think about it. DFW permitting fluency. We prepare submittals for Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Grand Prairie, and the cities around them, and the drawings are designed to anticipate reviewer questions on occupancy, egress, accessibility, and health code. Landlord and mall criteria handled. We have delivered inside Galleria Dallas and Stonebriar Centre as well as neighborhood centers and mixed-use developments, so landlord design review runs alongside the city permit rather than after it. Right-sized fees, straight answers. As a focused studio we keep overhead low and communication direct, and you get a realistic read on budget and schedule before you commit.

Our Process

  1. Discovery: first, we review the concept, menu or program, budget, and lease terms, then walk the space with laser-scanned as-builts where they help.
  2. Schematic design: next, seating, kitchen, and bar options you can react to quickly, with 3D renderings when partners or landlords need them.
  3. Design development and construction documents: permit-ready drawings coordinated with your equipment supplier, MEP engineer, and landlord criteria.
  4. Permitting and bidding: we answer city and health-department comments and also help you evaluate contractor bids.
  5. Construction administration: finally, site visits, RFI responses, and punch list through opening night.

Where We Work

Archiphy serves hospitality owners across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Grand Prairie, Richardson, Addison, and Farmers Branch. Because the principal is also licensed in Florida, Tennessee, and New York, we take select hospitality projects in those states too.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between hospitality architects and restaurant architects?

Restaurant architecture is one part of hospitality architecture. Hospitality architects also design bars, entertainment venues, event spaces, and the guest-facing areas of other buildings, such as multifamily amenity spaces, so the same operations-first thinking applies to a wider range of spaces.

Do you design multifamily amenity spaces?

Yes. Our built hospitality work is restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues, and we apply the same thinking to multifamily leasing offices, clubhouses, and common areas, so residents get a space that feels like a destination rather than a lobby.

How long does a hospitality project take in DFW?

It depends on scope and city. A second-generation restaurant with an existing hood and grease trap moves quickly, while a ground-up venue with a patio and event space takes longer. At our first meeting we give you a realistic schedule for your space and city, so you can plan your lease and opening date.

What does it cost to hire hospitality architects?

Fees depend on square footage, scope, and the condition of the existing space. Simply send us the address and a sentence about the concept, and we will reply with a clear proposal, usually within a few days.
